Sports Day (体育の日, Taiiku no hi) is a national holiday in Japan, held every year second Monday in October.  However many schools plan this outdoor event (called “undokai”) in the month of  September because of  the cooler temperatures.

This joyful event is celebrated throughout the entire country and every child from K-12 grades take part in some sort of activity.   Kids get a chance to test their athletic skills and compete with each other in a variety of events!   Fun to watch and event for the entire family to enjoy!   Gambatte!
