I visited a new cozy restaurant located in the Minami Iwakuni area, just behind NAFCO, across from Bulldog store.  
南岩国のナフコの近く、万惣の道を挟んだところにある、昨年できたばかりの新しいレストランに行ってみました。

As you enter, the friendly staff greets you with their warm smiles and hello’s.  The atmosphere is warm and elegantly simple, with earth tone colors and clean lines.   The layout is intimate with 8-9 tables; seating about 35 comfortably. 
店に入るとすぐにフレンドリーなスタッフが迎えてくれます。エレガントなシンプルさのある雰囲気のアーストーンのカラーで統一されたきれいなレストランです。８～９個のテーブルがあり約３５名分の席があります。

The menu is primarily Italian and French, with a good selection to choose from.  Their set menu prices vary from Y1,000 to Y2,300 for lunch and Y2,300 up towards Y8,000 for dinner – it just depends on your appetite. Also, there is an English menu for lunch, but not for the dinner menu.
メニューはイタリアン・フレンチ。価格帯はランチで１０００円～２３００円、ディナーで２３００円～８０００円。　英語のメニューはランチのみ準備されています。

They are open every day from 11:30 to 2:00 pm for lunch and 6:00 to 9:30 pm for dinner; except on Monday’s they are closed for dinner.  They do however have a Trios Coffee & Dessert special, Monday only, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. There is plenty of parking and reservations are recommended on Friday and Saturday nights. Phone: 0827-32-9500.

Overall, the experience was delightful and relaxing. I will be sure to return and try their French cuisine NEXT!

Delicious Shrimp Pizza with Basil/Pesto sauce – Very Good!
エビとジェノベーゼ・ソースのピザ　美味しかったわ！

Chicken & Mushroom Pasta – Be warned this pasta sauce has a unique seasoning that will leave you wondering, “What is that taste??” I will tell you at the end of this blog.
チキンとマッシュルームのパスタ　・・・このパスタ・ソースはちょっとユニークなフレーバーで秘密はなんだろう？って思っちゃうかもしれません。

デザート・・・地元食材を使った興味深い一品

Lotus Root Brulee – Creamy, but not a lot of flavor- luckily the ice cream was tasty!
蓮のブリュレ・・・とってもクリーミー　添えられたアイスクリームといい相性です。

Bread Ice Cream – French bread with vanilla ice cream in the middle
ブレッド・アイスクリーム・・・パンの中にアイスクリームを詰めた一皿

Ballottine  – (French) meat that has been rolled into a circular shape and filled with a stuffing of ingredients that enhance the flavor of the meat prepared, in this case chicken.
バロティーヌ（仏　ｂａｌｌｏｔｔｉｎｅ）・・・牛肉、豚肉、鳥肉などに詰め物をして丸く巻いたものです。

Poêle - (French) fried in a pan
ポワレ（仏　Poêle）　ポワレ、はPoêle(フライパン)から、「フライパンで焼く」の意味です。

Coq au vin - (French) braise of chicken cooked with wine
コック・オー・バン（仏　Coq au vin ）鶏肉の赤ワイン煮です。

* Tomato sauce secret, bay leaves with nutmeg.   First time I have ever tried this combination.  Not sure if I liked it, a little odd.
