Child care is offered at the Child Development Center (CDC) on base. They have full-time contract care as well as hourly care. It seems the situation with CDC child care is constantly a topic of discussion among parents, so If you have children 0-4 years old, I would recommend speaking with someone else who has young children now to see what the current situation is before making a decision.
Many parents choose to send their pre-school age children to one of the Japanese “Yochiens” that are off-base. Most of them have a bus that comes to the base to pick up/drop off. The buses are designed to look like animals, or a train, or something fun to make it more enjoyable for the kids to ride in. Again, talk to others who have little children that may help you to decide which is best for your situation.
